The advance in technology that was created by the inventions of Minsk and Plambeck, and all those who followed them, was one that revolutionized several industries. The advance was one which promulgated the idea that an image could be used to replicate a structure over and over again in a predictable and cost-saving manner. The concept is referred to as photolithographic replication, or simply photolithography. This concept will be discussed in the next section. [Pg.209]
