Self-aspirating nature makes gas-inducing reactors attractive for applications in dead-end situations involving pure/expensive gas phase (Table 3.3). As a result, recycle compressor for the gas is not required. 

Gas induction rate is sensitive to the liquid level (submergence) above the main gas-inducing impeller (Conway et al. 2002). 

Total power required (sum of impeller power and external loop pump) for cases (1) and (3) above is relatively high, particularly on large scale (Conway et al. 2002 also Section 7A.10). 

Requires careful maintenance of the sealing mechanism for the agitator shaft if the gas/liquid mixture is inflammable and reaction pressure is also high ( 1 MPa).
