Interpenetration INDEX

Batten S (2007) Interpenetration http //www.chem.monash.edu.au/staff/sbatten/ interpen/index.html, last visited 30 July 2007... [Pg.145]

Once interpenetration occurs the resistance to deformation increases markedly, so for example we would expect compaction of a sediment to become limited, as would further concentration in a filter press. It is worth emphasising the point that this is a simplistic approach, as prior to interpenetration the clusters undergo structural rearrangements changing their fractal index at a critical volume fraction. A typical data set for yield stress is shown in Figure 6.16.19... [Pg.249]

Calcium Boroarsenate occurs in New Jersey as the mineral cahnite4 (see p. 14) it forms white, vitreous, tetragonal sphenoids, occurring in characteristic interpenetrating twins. The refractive index is 1-662. [Pg.288]

An expression has been derived by Marcus34 and Hush35 for A0 assuming the solvent to be a structureless dielectric continuum characterized by the macroscopic dielectric constants Dop and Ds. D0p and Ds are the optical and static dielectric constants, respectively, and Dop = n2 where n is the index of refraction in the visible spectral region. In the limit that the reactants can be treated as two non-interpenetrating spheres, AQ is given by equation (23). [Pg.341]

Yamana. S. J. Chem. Educ. 198. 65. 1072 (tetragonal pyramid) 1989. 66, 1019 (triangular dodecahedron) 1990.67, 1029-1030 (interpenetrating trigonal pyramids). These are but three examples. Additional ones may be found from the references in these or by consulting the author indexes of the Journal of Chemical Education between the years 1979 and present. [Pg.1007]
