TWo-Teeth Difference. In this type of pump an abutment on one side plate is used to fill the clearance between the external and internal gear. This construction reduces leakage but involves the use of an overhung internal gear. Such a gear arrangement limits the application of these pumps to small and moderate-volume capacity pumps. [Pg.470]

Likewise, process machinery shall also be examined for materials of construction, in-built safety features such as internal safety valves (e.g. gear pumps), limit switches for overload, over hoisting for hoists, tripping of drive motor in case of jamming of lobes of twin lobe blowers due to dust, etc. [Pg.95]

More recently, HNP Mikrosysteme GmbH [14] has commercialized a type of rotary pump called micro annular gear pump. This t3q>e of pump is a positive displacement pump with an externally toothed rotor and internally toothed ring, which are assembled with a small eccentricity of their rotation axes with respect to each other. The rotation of the internal rotor forces the fluid pockets which are interlocked between two gears to flow. The pump flow rates vary from product to product, but are in a range of 1 pL/h to 1.2 1/min. Advantages of this product include accurate control of flow rate and minimum pulsation in delivery. [Pg.2005]

PEI resins have been used in a variety of applications such as electrical connectors, internal computer parts, printed-circuit boards, flexible circuits, optical fiber connectors, fire helmets, large appliances, aircraft interiors, trays, microwave cookware, reflectors, motor parts, gears, pumps, lubrication systems, wire coating, industrial applications, bearings, small appliances, films, and fibers. Polyetherimides are used in a wide range of applications. A few of the key markets for PEI resins and some of the benefits they bring to the application are summarized below. [Pg.177]

In the blown sheet extrusion process, after leaving the extmder, gear pump and screen pack, the resin moves to a circular spiral mandrel die in which a tube of molten material is formed and inflated with air from the inside. The tube is then lifted in a haul-off tower up to 40 m high where it is cooled by an internal and external flow of cool air. It then proceeds to... [Pg.30]

The internal pH loop consists of a gear-pump, an in-line mixer for paste dilution and an in-line pH meter/control unit that is connected to the small capacity caustic dosing pump. [Pg.160]

Rotatory dosing pumps such as gear pumps or eccentric screw pumps which are electrically driven do not have the aforementioned drawbacks. The control occurs internally in the drive system. The pump size (in ccm/revolution), the transmission ratio, and the individually determined slip factor allow exact correlation between the speed of the drive and the resulting volume flow. The internal control loop of the electrical drive adjusts the set value. The control loop usually consists of an incremental counter, which monitors the speed within the work cycle (2-5 ms). If a difference between the actual increment and the set increment is recorded (contouring error), the power uptake of the motor is adjusted with the aim of no longer having a difference at the end of the next cycle (cycle time). Factors such as viscosity changes in the adhesive result in altered power uptake by the drive. [Pg.992]

The piston is driven in and out of a solvent chamber by an eccentric cam or gear. On the forward stroke, the inlet check valve closes, the outlet valve opens, and mobile phase is pumped to the column on the return stroke the outlet valve closes and the chamber is refilled. Unlike syringe pumps, reciprocating pumps have an unlimited capacity, and their internal volume can be made very small, from 10-100 p. The flow rate can be varied by changing the length of stroke of the piston or the speed of the motor. Access to the valves and seals is usually fairly straightforward. [Pg.21]
