Interleukin Zidovudine

Drugs that may affect nelfinavir include anticonvulsants, azithromycin, azole antifungals, efavirenz, delavirdine, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, indinavir, interleukins, nevirapine, rifabutin, rifampin, ritonavir, saquinavir, St. John s wort. Drugs that may be affected by nelfinavir include amiodarone, antiarrhythmics (amiodarone, quinidine), azithromycin, benzodiazepines, efavirenz, ergot alkaloids, delavirdine, didanosine, fentanyl, indinavir, lamivudine methadone, nonsedating antihistamines, oral contraceptives, phenytoin, pimozide, quinidine, rifabutin, saquinavir, sildenafil, sirolimus, tacrolimus, zidovudine. 

Albendazole, ag interferon, anti-CD5 antibody, azathioprine, dimercaprol, hycanthone, interferon, interleukin 2, iron dextran, ivermectin, ketoconazole, lansoprazole, metoprolol, nalidixic acid, OKT3, pefloxacin, tiabendazole, zidovudine... 

Interferon alfa does not alter the pharmacokinetics of didanosine or lamivudine to a clinically relevant extent. Interferon alfa and, particularly, interferon beta can cause an increase in the serum levels of zidovudine. HIV-positive patients infected with hepatitis C and treated with interferon alfa and ribavirin may be at special risk of NRTI-associated lactic acidosis. Interleukin-2 appears not to interact significantly with zidovudine. 

A study found that a 4-week course of interleukin-2 (0.25 million units/m daily) by continuous infusion had no clinically significant effect on the pharmacokinetics of a 100-mg intravenous dose of zidovudine. Another study in 8 HIV-positive men given oral zidovudine 200 mg every 4 hours found similar results. No special precautions would seem necessary.
