In summary, we have examined the role of structural disjoining pressure in the movement of a three phase contact fine. The movement of the contact fine is an integral process in the displacement of one fluid by another. Practical applications include the spreading of a fluid on a solid surface or the removal of a pollutant drop from a solid surface by the action of a surfactant solution. 

If the saturated solution contains x mols of the solid solute in each mol of solvent, x mols of the solid will dissolve when I mol of the vapour condenses. In this process the total volume changes by -(v —V2- -xv, where Vg and % are the molecular volumes of the vapour and the sohd, and Vg is the volume of the saturated solution which contains I mol of solvent and x mols of solute. The quantity of heat Li is called the total or integral heat of solution. 

Supercritical carbon dioxide is widely used as an extracting agent, especially in the food industry. Contaminats are also extracted from aqueous solutions or solids by CO2 [3]. Aftac extraction, the hazardous compound is in C02 not in the water phase. Therefore, in an optimum incineration process, the compounds would be oxidized in the extracting agent CO2 as a second step of an integrated process [4,S]. 

Equation 11.4.10 is the desired relation. It shows how a measurement of the molar integral enthalpy change for a solution process that produces solution of a certain molality can be combined with dilution measurements in order to calculate molar integral enthalpies of solution for more dilute solutions. Experimentally, it is sometimes more convenient to carry out the dilution process than the solution process, especially when the pure solute is a gas or solid.
