Inspection covers and cable boxes are particular problem areas. Effective steps should be taken to prevent the entry of moisture as this will reduce or eliminate the risk. Covers can themselves be a problem especially in dusty areas where the dust can accumulate on flat insulating surfaces resulting in tracking between conductors at different voltages and a subsequent insulation failure. The interior of inspection panels should be kept clean and dust free by using a suitable vacuum cleaner.

The on/off shutter is interlocked with the entrance and exit panels so X-rays can be kept on at all times without risk of radiation leakage or exposure of the frozen fish blocks prior to the actual inspection.

Error probabilities that are used in decomposition approaches are all derived in basically the same manner. As alluded to above, the method relies upon the identification of a 3A-dimensional vector in configuration space, es, which points along a favored direction for the motion of the system. Blister Box Test, according to ASTM D 4585 (ISO 6270). This test evaluates the water resistance of a coat by condensation of water vapour. The panel surface with the coating system is exposed to 40°C, saturated water vapour, at an angle of 15° to the horizontal. The reverse side of the panel is exposed to room temperature. At each inspection blisters and rust are evaluated according to ASTM D 714 (ISO 4628-2) and ASTM D 610 (ISO 4628-3) respectively. Cracking is evaluated according to ISO 4628-4. When the test is stopped, adhesion is evaluated according to ASTM D 3359, tape test (ISO 2409) or ASTM D 4541 (ISO 4624), pull-off test. 

Picoult-Newberg et al. (1999) analyzed >21,000 5 ESTs and >19,000 3 ESTs. More than 6000 candidates were localized, but only 850 passed the filters applied. They inspected the fluorescence traces of 100 randomly selected specimens. A total of 88 verified candidates were then validated as common variants by sequencing from a panel of individuals 55 out of 88 sites were confirmed to be polymorphic. In four cases all samples appeared to be heterozygous, which points to sampling from more than one gene of a multigene family (they did not pursue possible paralogy).
