Pollution prevention can also he achieved by input material change. It actually reduces or eliminates the waste material that first enters the process. Material changes can also be done to reduce the waste generation within a production process. This can be achieved by material substitution or by material purification or concentration. The new substituted material is either very pure or has a reduced amount of hazardous constituents in it, which produces less pollutants, or has lower waste generation and also satisfies the end-product specification.
