Inositol Phosphorylceramide

Similar to PI species, inositol phosphorylceramide (IPC) species can be readily ionized to form [M-H] in the negative-ion mode. Ionization of IPC species in the positive-ion mode could form [M-i-H] and [M-FLi]+ under certain experimental conditions. However, ionization efficiency to form these ions is much lower in comparison to that of [M-H] [25]. [Pg.210]

The fragmentation pattern of IPC species in the negative-ion mode (i.e., [M-H] ) after low-energy CID is structural informative [25], including the following  [Pg.210]

The principal sphingosylphosphatide component of yeast, fungi, and slime molds is inositol phosphorylceramide (Ins-PCer, compound 3, Fig. 3), which has a phytoceramide or dihydrosphingosine backbone and an inositol phosphate head group. InsPCer is formed in a reaction catalyzed by Ins-... [Pg.1762]
