Inorganic natural pigments

Pigments may be of organic and inorganic nature. Pigments are used likewise as colorants for plastics, but also are used in toner compositions. Some pigments are summarized in Table 4.2. [Pg.43]

The uncertified color additives (Institute of Food Technologists 1986) include a number of natural extracts as well as inorganic substances such as titanium dioxide. Some of these can be used only with certain restrictions (Table 6-7). The consumer demand for more natural colorants has provided an impetus for examining many natural coloring substances. These have been described in detail by Francis (1987). The possibility of using plant tissue culture for the production of natural pigments has also been considered (Ilker 1987). [Pg.173]

Natural resin paints natural resins (e.g., shellac) or chemical modified natural resins (e.g., colophonium derivates), additions (e.g., methyl cellulose, natural latex, casein), inorganic, organic pigments (mainly natural origin), mineral fillers, additives (organic solvents alcohols, terpenes, oil of turpentine, limonenes), essential oils (eucalyptus oil, oil of rosemary, oil of bergamot) various applications... [Pg.1238]

Inorganic and organic natural pigments, synthetic pigments... [Pg.806]

Study of painted pottery from the American Southwest Nd YAG 213 nm ICP-SF-MS Qualitative analysis of painted pottery to identify the organic or inorganic nature of the pigments, as well as to discriminate among the different recipes used for Mesa Verde pottery Speakman and Neff [41]... [Pg.867]

Because of the inorganic nature of the pigment, cadmiums are not soluble in organic solvents and polymers. They have therefore very low migration levels. [Pg.27]
