Incipience of Boiling in Surfactant Solutions

Under some conditions boiling incipience in surfactant solutions may be quite different from that in Newtonian fluids. Hetsroni et al. (2007) presented results for [Pg.277]

Data were taken for both increasing and decreasing heat fluxes. The total mass of the liquid in the test facility remained constant, thus no fresh liquid was introduced to top off the system. For water boiling in the gap sizes of 0.45, 1.2, 2.2, and 3.7mm, the Bond numbers, Bn = 5 a/g pL — were 0.185, 0.493, 0.9 [Pg.279]

The results obtained at Bn = 1.26 are presented in Fig. 6.17, for different concentrations of surfactant solutions. The onset of boiling corresponds to the curve ABCD for the runs with increasing heat flux. It follows the curve DCA for decreas- [Pg.279]
