Imaging, macro vision

Macro-vision images of the placenta and outer pericarp are presented in Figure 4. Images were obtained after sample degassing. They represented 8 x 3.2 nmF areas obtained by zooming on the initial 10.7 x 14.4 nmF images. White spots in the tissues corresponded to... [Pg.141]

We showed in this study that quantitative evaluation of MRI parameters reflects differences in properties between tomato tissues. Parallel MRI and camera experiments provided greater understanding of the relaxation processes and contributed to the interpretation of origins of contrast in MRI of plant tissues. The core and placenta tissues of the tomato were characterized by lower relaxation times than other tissues, in agreement with the results of the cell size estimations from macro-vision images, which demonstrated... [Pg.141]

The objective of the application of image analysis techniques, in the food sector, is the quantification of geometric and densitometric characteristic of image, acquired in a form that represents meaningful information (at macro and microscopic level) of appearance of an object (Diezak, 1988). The evolution of these techniques and their implementation in the vision machine in form of hardware and specialized software, allows a wide flexibility of applications, a high capacity of calculation and a rigorous statistical approach. [Pg.225]
