The Bossier sands produce some water, with rates ranging from 1 to 5 bbl/day for the life of the well. It is believed that no mobile liquid water phase exists in the reservoir. The source of long-term water production is probably water vapour that is originally dissolved in the hydrocarbon gas phase at reservoir conditions but condenses at the surface. This observation seems to also be confirmed by the low salinity, ranging from 40 000 to 60 000 ppm NaCl, of the produced waters. These salinities are significantly lower than the in-situ connate waters which often have salinities exceeding 200 000 ppm (Newsham Rushing 2002). [Pg.384]
