Sorm et a/. prepared azacytidine and some of its derivatives in a similar way. The 4-thio derivative was obtained from 2, 3, 5 -tri-0-acetyl- or 2, 3, 5 -tri-0-benzoyl-6-azauridine by treatment with phosphorus pentasulfide this liberated 4-thio-6-azauridine (126) which was identified with 4-thio-6-azauracil on comparing the UV spectra. A mixture of 12.6 g of benzoyl chloride in 100 cc of ethylene chloride is added dropwise to a suspension of 25.6 g of 3ethylene chloride and 21.8 g of triethylamine within 18 minutes at room temperature while stirring. The mixture is stirred at room temperature for a further 14 hours, 200 cc of water are added, the organic phase is separated and concentrated to an oil in a vacuum. Dialkyl- 1,2-diacyl-hydrazine, selbst Benzoyl-Derivate, lassen sich dagegen bereits in siedendemTHFgutzu den Tetraalkyl-hydrazinenreduzieren. In geringemUmfang konnen sich auch Monoacyl-hydrazine und Amine bilden. So erhalt man z. B. aus 1,2-Dimethyl- 1,2-dipropanoyl-hydrazin neben 82% d.Th. 1,2-Dimethyl-1,2-dipropyl-hydrazin 14% d.Th. 1,2-Dimethyl-2-propyl-l-propanoyl-hydrazin1 bzw. aus 1,2-Dimethyl-1,2-di-benzoyl-hydrazin neben 60% d.Th. 1,2-Dimethyl-1,2-dibenzyl-hydrazin 28% d.Th. Methyl-benzyl- amin1. 

The pyrazoles 51 react with triethyl orthoformate and hydrazine to give the pyrazolopyrimidines 52 which react further with acetic anhydride and benzoyl chloride to give pyrazolotriazolopyrimidines 53 and with a-ketohydrazonoyl halides to give pyrazolopyrimidotriazines 54 <95MI01 96CA(124)86924>.
