Human factors in the development of flight controls

Human factors have been identified as a significant contributing factor in accidents and incidents [REA 90], the flight control system of the Airbus takes this into account in its development process. [Pg.225]

This is covered extensively by the aviation regulations regarding stability and aircraft control and related topics (alarms, piloting assistance). Maintainability is also considered. [Pg.225]

The flight control system of the Airbus offers the pilot aids, such as flight envelope protection, some of which are available on non-FBW aircraft, whereas others are specific, as well as assistive devices for maintainability. Note that the errors introduced by the designers are covered in section 6.3. [Pg.225]
