Human factors in the development of flight controls

Human factors have been identified as a significant contributing factor in accidents and incidents [REA 90], the flight control system of the Airbus takes this into account in its development process. 

This is covered extensively by the aviation regulations regarding stability and aircraft control and related topics (alarms, piloting assistance). Maintainability is also considered. 

The flight control system of the Airbus offers the pilot aids, such as flight envelope protection, some of which are available on non-FBW aircraft, whereas others are specific, as well as assistive devices for maintainability. Note that the errors introduced by the designers are covered in section 6.3.
