When evaluating human elements in relation to occupational mishaps, five factors are taken into consideration.

For example, if a job originally designed for male workers is opened lo female workers, llie possibility of increased proneness to injuries of certain types (e.g., back injuries) should be considered.  

Personality). Personality factors such as tendency to anger, discontent, e.xcilability. and hostility, as well as low order of adjustment and liigh impulsiveness can also contribute lo maladjustments and accidents.  

Accident Proneness. Tlie old notion that certain people are accident-prone has been difficult to establish as fact. A more acceptable concept may be accident liability, which cati be related lo factors that often are temporary and do not depend primarily on personality traits, such as work situation or stress.
