National Genome Research Network the Human Brain Proteome Project... [Pg.13]

In 2001, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) initiated the National Genome Research Network (NGFN) as a nation-wide multidisciplinary platform network aiming at the analysis of common human diseases, as well as aging. Within the NGFN the so-called Human Brain Proteome Project (HBPP) focuses on the analysis of the human brain in health and disease. The concept is based on three consecutive steps ... [Pg.13]

In the next step of the Human Brain Proteome Project it is planned that identified disease-associated proteins vill be validated using several different techniques. The pathways they play a role in will be analyzed. This will lead to help in understanding the analyzed diseases and to develop diagnostic and/or therapeutic approaches. [Pg.16]
