The appendix section of this book started with Appendix 1 Early Hostility toward Chemical Graph Theory, and, since in certain circles the hostility toward chemical graph theory has never ended, it scans appropriate to comment on one more recent incident in this area. The case that we have selected also illustrates (1) a lack of tolerance toward diversity and (2) cunning manipulations by part of establishment to protect the interest of a few scientists—a kind of bureaucracy that is emerging in science even in the twenty-first century. 

Chemical graph theory is bound to remain terra incognita for some, who will, undoubtedly, continue to be hostile toward chemical graph theory, curse it, and find it faulty, rather than becoming acquainted with the basic concepts of the field in which they are, at best, novices. One should not underestimate the dangers of the situation in which chemical graph theory found itself, not by its fault. The situation is...
