Highest operating temperature

The limiting secondary resistance is required to determine the secondary limiting e.ni.f. which is = (FS) x rated secondary current x VA X resistance of secondary windings at 90°C or the highest operating temperature as in Table 14.5, where... 

They have a characteristic smooth texture, thermal stability, good water resistance and are relatively inexpensive. The softer grades are easily applied, pump well and give low starting torque. Their application is limited by their relatively low drop points, which are around 100°C (212°F). This means that, in practice, the highest operating temperature is about 50°C (122°F). 

Polyether ketones were introduced in 1986. These materials have the highest operational temperatures of any thermoplastic material. 

The bipolar plates (Fig. 3.20) providing electric contact between cells and forming impermeable channels for gas transport are in most SOFC designs made of ferritic stainless steel (low thermal expansion coefficient), although at the highest operating temperatures, more advanced (and expensive) metal structures must be used. 

High boiling point (low vapor pressure at the highest operating temperature). 

Figure 6.8 shows the carbon deposition at OCVs for various operating temperatures. Carbon deposition is maximum for the highest operating temperature of 800°C. Figure 6.9 shows carbon formation as a function of current density.
