High-throughout

Since polymer swelling is poor and the aqueous solubiUty of acrylonitrile is relatively high, the tendency for radical capture is limited. Consequentiy, the rate of particle nucleation is high throughout the course of the polymerization, and particle growth occurs predominantiy by a process of agglomeration of primary particles. Unlike emulsion particles of a readily swollen polymer, such as polystyrene, the acrylonitrile aqueous dispersion polymer particles are massive agglomerates of primary particles which are approximately 100 nm in diameter. [Pg.278]

The structure of the modified products is probably a mixture of mono-, di- and trisubstituted materials with the amounts of di-and trisubstitution increasing as the proportion of tin-mo1ety increases even though for the products with dibutyltin dichloride tin moiety inclusion remained high throughout the tin cotton range of 0.30 1 to 5 1 being about the value expected for tri-substitution. [Pg.383]

The intensity of research and the burden of production did not appear to affect the interviewees desire to make new discoveries. One Cohort V interviewee remarked The thing I love about research is that there is always something new and challenging... It is always exciting. Most interviewees desire to conduct research remained high throughout their careers. [Pg.127]

Particle-bound Hg concentrations of sediment trap material exhibited strong seasonal response and accounted for the differences between the Hg flux and mass and carbon fluxes late in the summer. Particle-bound HgT content in spring and early summer was below 200 ng/g, but during late summer stratification it reached levels between 200 and 400 ng/g. Levels were highest following breakdown of thermal stratification and remained high throughout the fall (>350 ng/g). The elevated HgT levels after overturn most likely represented a shift from dissolved to particle-bound Hg. [Pg.441]

Enantiocontrol is high throughout, but diastereocontrol is markedly dependent on the structure of the ligand, that is, the ligand providing the most restrictive cavity is the one that influences the conformational equilibrium of the metal carbene intermediate (Scheme 5.6). [Pg.220]
