Dilution. In many appHcations, dilution of the flocculant solution before it is mixed with the substrate stream can improve performance (12). The mechanism probably involves getting a more uniform distribution of the polymer molecules. Since the dosage needed to form floes is usually well below the adsorption maximum, a high local concentration is effectively removed from the system at that point, leaving no flocculant for the rest of the particles. A portion of the clarified overflow can be used for dilution so no extra water is added to the process. [Pg.36]

Co-buHders such as nitnlotriacetic acid or polycarboxylates also may be incorporated into the detergent formulation. Wash performance of detergents decreases with increasing calcium concentration. Protease performance varies, but high calcium concentrations tend to reduce protease performance. Therefore it is an advantage to add a buHder system to the detergent. Proteases need a smaH amount of calcium for the sake of stabHity, but even with the most efficient buHder systems, stabHity during wash is not a problem. [Pg.294]

A microchannel reactor for CO preferential oxidation was developed. The reactor was consisted of microchannel patterned stainless steel plates which were coated by R11/AI2O3 catalyst. The reactor completely removed 1% CO contained in the Ha-rich reformed gas and controlled CO outlet concentration less than Ippm at 130 200°C and 50,000h. However, CH4 was produced from 180"C and CO selectivity was about 50%. For high performance of present PrOx reactor, reaction temperature should be carefully and uniformly controlled to reach high CO conversion and selectivity, and low CH4 production. It seems that the present microchaimel reactor is promising as a CO removal reactor for PEMFC systems. [Pg.656]

Fan et al. [106] developed a high performance capillary electrophoresis method for the analysis of primaquine and its trifluoroacetyl derivative. The method is based on the mode of capillary-zone electrophoresis in the Bio-Rad HPE-100 capillary electrophoresis system effects of some factors in the electrophoretic conditions on the separation of primaquine and trifluoroacetyl primaquine were studied. Methyl ephedrine was used as the internal standard and the detection was carried out at 210 nm. A linear relationship was obtained between the ratio of peak area of sample and internal standard and corresponding concentration of sample. The relative standard deviations of migration time and the ratio of peak area of within-day and between-day for replicate injections were <0.6% and 5.0%, respectively. [Pg.192]
