High Line Pressure Safety Instrumented Function SIF

High Line Pressure Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) [Pg.195]

The focus in this chapter will be on one case of high line pressure in the lines from the wells to the manifold header. High pressure in the lines to and including the manifolds can be due to many causes. Examples are  [Pg.195]

Closure of the main shutdown valve at the inlet to the main separator. The closure of this valve will cause the lines from aU the wells, the manifolds, and the line from the manifold to the main shutdown valve to overpressure. The most credible consequence associated with this scenario (to be based on a detailed PHA review) may be a rupture of a flange in the main manifold assembly leading to a fire and equipment damage. [Pg.195]

These two causes will result in the definition of two different safety instrumented functions because the consequences and likelihood associated with the two scenarios are different. These differences are summarized in the SIF list for well 1 (Table 13-1). [Pg.195]
