Heteroarylpropionic acids

Ketosugars [1-4] e.g. fructose, sucrose, raffinose, lactose Aryl- and heteroarylpropionic acids e.g. flurbiprofen, ketoprofen [5] ... 

Note In the case of aryl- and heteroarylpropionic acids the chromatograms are irradiated with unfiltered UV light for 30 min before application of the reagent [5], The chromatograms can then be immersed in a solution of liquid paraffin - -hexane (1-1-2) in order to stabilize and enhance the fluorescence [5]. 

The detection limits for aryl- and heteroarylpropionic acids are in the lower nano-gram range (5, 7], In the case of ketosugars 10-40 ng substance can be detected per chromatogram zone [1]. 

A four component one-pot procedure (4-MC) was developed for the synthesis of 3-heteroarylpropionic acids 20 and 4-nitroisoxazolyl derivatives 21 from commercially available starting materials 16-19, in high yields and without chromatographic purification... 

The combined reaction of formaldehyde and Meldrum s acid with pyrroles and indoles provides a synthetic route to the corresponding heteroarylpropionic acid (e.g. 810PP39).
