Heritage data

Lastiy, there are extensive databanks of real-time performance for adhesives that have been used in numerous applications, various environments, and for extended periods of time, the so-called heritage data. [Pg.290]

Some adhesives have been used successfully for over 20 years in specific applications and environments, and a reliability database is available (heritage data). These adhesives may thus be qualified for other applications by similarity of exposure and operating conditions. In general, the adhesive may be qualified and used if it had previously been used successfully in a proven, equivalent application for which the environmental conditions and tests were at least as severe as those required of the candidate application. [Pg.374]

Standard test procedures have been developed to assist this selection process and predict durability in the absence of heritage data to establish suitability for purpose. However, these standard test methods rely on acceleration techniques to produce deterioration of properties in reduced timescales, which may induce mechanisms and pathways that are not present under normal service conditions. So these tests need to be supported by determinations conducted under normal service conditions. [Pg.919]

Anatoly K. Babko published more than 450 scientific works and 9 books that were translated into several languages. It is noted that his scientific heritage continues to this day - as testified by data of the Institute of. Scientific Information (LSI). Within the website (http //isiwebofknowledge.com) for 2000 to 2004 (35 years from Anatoly K. Babko s death) there were citations to more than 100 of his articles. His monograph of Physical and Chemical Analysis of... [Pg.6]

The use of the older restricted version of the Pauli principle has persisted, however, and is routinely employed to develop the electronic version of the periodic table. Modern chemistry appears to be committing two mistakes. Firstly, there is a rejection of the classical chemical heritage whereby the classification of elements is based on the accumulation of data on the properties and reactions of elements. Secondly, modem chemistry looks to physics with reverence and the false assumption that therein lies the underlying explanation to all of chemistry. Chemistry in common with all other branches of science appears to have succumbed to the prevailing tendency that attempts to reduce everything to physics (11). In the case of the Pauli principle, chemists frequently fall short of a full understanding of the subject matter, and... [Pg.13]

Experimental data presented in this chapter were obtained with the expert technical assistance of Dorothy Rutkowski, Rena Pawlik, and Carmen Rieder, and with financial assistance from the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research, the Alberta Cancer Board, and the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation. [Pg.319]
