Hence the knowledge of the adiabatic temperature rise is sufficient to calculate the MTSR. The data required for the safety assessment are the maximum heat release rate of the reaction at the desired temperature (q ) and the reaction energy (Qpt). The first datum is needed to calculate the required cooling capacity of the industrial reactor. The second calculates the adiabatic temperature rise necessary to assess the behavior of the reactor in case of cooling failure.
