Hatred

Misogyny. Strong bias against or hatred toward women. 

On its face, Gentleman s Agreement is unequivocal in its erasure of Jewish racial difference indeed, whatever statement the novel seeks to make about Jewishness, and, finally, about justice, derives entirely from the central idea of interchangeability. Phil Green can experience anti-Semitism firsthand because he can pass as a Jew and he can pass because, at bottom, there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles. (This, in turn, is what is so absurd about anti-Semitism, Hobson will have us conclude. What does it mean that a non-Jew can be the victim of Jew-hatred )... 

Over the course of ten stanzas the narrator has a change of heart, and as he recognizes his Hebrew neighbors as distant kinsmen of Jesus Christ, his racial hatred gives way to racial glorification ... 

Despite the whimsicality of its plot construction, Focus offers a profound analysis of anti-Semitism as an instrument of economic and political power. (In this respect Focus has more in common with Carey McWilliams s Mask for Privilege than with Gentleman s Agreement.) Miller addresses the work of anti-Semitism from the standpoint of political economy through the character of Finkelstein, a Jew in Newman s neighborhood who witnesses Newman s victimization at the hands of the (mistaken) Christian Front. According to Finkelstein, the Jew is not so much the object of anti-Semitism as its mode of operation. The object of Jew-hatred, that is, is an allocation of economic and social resources... 

This passage is a compelling study of the hatred that can attach to race—virtually no piece of evidence is enough to reverse its course. What follows is a stunning treatment of the complex processes of projection, ascription, and reification, as the anti-Semite contemplates one whom he supposes to be the Jew and slowly recognizes the desire he feels for her.

Crowley et al. performed some interesting work with Pichia pastoris in a fed-batch process.19 The complex mixture was measured using a multibounce attenuated total reflectance (HATR) cell. The authors developed models for glycerol, methanol, and the product, a heterologous protein. The results are reported somewhat differently from normal chemometric results. The authors used root-mean square error (RMSE) for the product as a performance index and measured a percent difference for the methanol and glycerol. 

Initially, Cortez defeated the Tlascalans, and then formed an alliance with them to defeat the Aztecs, their enemies. Because of an Aztec prophecy about the return of Quetzacoatl, a legendary god-king who was light skinned and bearded, Cortez was believed to be a god and was received by the Aztecs with honor. Later, this warm welcome turned to mistrust and hatred when the Spaniards mistreated the Aztec people. Eventually, the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan, fell to the Spaniards. Cortez had Tenochtitlan razed and built Mexico City on its ruins.

Crowley first became involved with the Golden Dawn in 1898 and soon managed to earn the hatred of Yeats, Waite, and MacGregor Mathers. In 1900 he helped to add to the turmoil that caused the break up of the society. While in Egypt in 1904, he founded his own occult movement called Thelema. Crowley said that the Egyptian god Horus contacted him and appointed him as the god s chosen prophet and scribe. Through his minister, Aiwass, Horus dictated a text to Crowley. The result was Crowley s most famous book, The Book of the Law, in which he laid out the official doctrine of the new Aeon of Horus. The most important rule of the doctrine, and the one most often quoted is, "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law."2...
