Probable members include Richard Field, Richard de Vere 17 Earl of Oxford, Gabriel Harvey, Edmund Spenser, Sir Edward Dyer, Sir Philip Sidney and Sir Francis Bacon. Their interest seems focused around the players companies that performed each year on St John the Evangelist s Day, December twenty-seventh, a traditional assembly day of Freemasons.
