Such a d-ASC seems to be involved with another talented percipient, Blue Harary, who is both a scientific investigator and an experiencer of OOBEs, probably of the discrete kind. He has worked with William Roll, Robert Morris, John Hartwell, Joseph Janis, and D. Scott Rogo at the Psychical Research Foundation in Durham.
