The headteacher says that the variable quality of the information about individual students arriving from feeder primary schools means that the school is often ill prepared for meeting the needs of some students. Although students with statements of special educational needs and those who are recipients of the resourced provision have clearly identified needs, some parents are recommended [Pg.87]

The school employs 86 teachers, and there are 140 staff in total. Like many schools in this part of London, recruitment and retention of teachers is difficult. A significant proportion of the teaching staff are recruited from overseas and they have to be inducted into teaching in such a school. [Pg.88]

Levels of mobihty in the school are high, reflecting the transient nature of the local community, with as many as 30 students arriving and leaving each term. Mobility makes it difficult to moiutor achievement and plan provision. However, recent figures suggest that mobility is about the same as the local authority average. [Pg.88]
