Hapto prefix

The prefix tj" (hapto n) is used in front of the ligand formula to imply bonding to n carbons and to specify the nuthber of carbon atoms that int act with the Pd center. [Pg.9]

The number of C atoms of an organic group bonded to metal are indicated by the prefix t], which is read as hapto, as in (C5H5)2pe (named bis(77 -cyclopentadienyl)iron). Further, the groups bridging two metal centres are given a prefix fi, as in (Me3Al)2 di-/t-methyl(tetramethyl) dialuminium. [Pg.181]
