Halogen-substituted aromatics

The method is general for alkyl- and halogen-substituted aromatic amines. 

Alkyl and halogen substituted aromatics have 3 values within 0.05 unit of the parent compound.

Specific halogen substituted aromatic polyamides have given substantial increases in char formation due to the formation, in part, of thermally stable benzoxazole units.

Polysulfone resins are prepared by a process similar to that used to prepare polyether ketones, except that the displacement occurs on a halogen-substituted aromatic sulfone. 

An exact match is obtained in the search for the Arochlor 1254 and interestingly, the four closest matches, with significantly reduced scores, are also Arochlors (Table 7). All the other compounds in the list are halogen substituted aromatic hydrocarbons. The key point in this example is that priority has been given to the materials of common generic type.
