Group thermal properties

Drying calculations are based on air and material properties and conditions. The air properties were discussed in Section 24.3. The material properties will be reviewed in this section. These properties are divided into two groups thermal properties and physical properties. Physical properties are important in the selection of the right drying system for the food material. [Pg.529]

Figure 5-6 and Tables 5-3 to 5-5 provide an introductory guide to the different thermal properties of plastics. Heat resistance properties of plastics retaining 50% of properties obtainable at room temperature with plastic exposure and testing at elevated temperatures are shown in Fig. 5-6 for the general family or group type. [Pg.319]

In our research,16171819 we first prepared a series of tris(/i-alkylamino)borazines that possess different pendent groups. This allowed us to investigate the effect of the nature of the /i-(alkylamino) substituents on both the viscoelastic behavior of the thermal properties and, therefore, the melt spinnability of the resulting poly[/i-(alkylamino)-borazines] polymers. [Pg.124]

C2F4—VDF—HFP. Table 5.2 gives the molecular weights and thermal properties of the fluorosilicones we obtained. The influence of the key group in terms of these properties is as follows ... [Pg.78]

Ferrocene-based Branched Polymers (Dendrimers). One of the topics in macromolecular chemistry is constituted by dendrimers, or hyperbranched macromolecules of tridimensional globular structure, the surface of which is characterized by a large number of functional groups, Scheme 4. Such functionalities impart to the molecules solubility, viscosity and thermal properties different from those of the common linear polymers.38c,d 44... [Pg.185]

Aminopolysaccharides 9 and 10 can be expected to have unusual properties because of the hyperbranched structure. The thermal properties of 9 and 10 were examined (Figure 2) by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The TGA curve of 9 shows that decomposition of the tosyl group started at 166°C and showed a 45% weight loss up to 337°C. The residual material exhibited thermal resistance above 337°C, but a second weight loss occurred at... [Pg.265]
