Ground erodibility

Solids that find their way into wastewaters include the solids on the kitchen table com, vegetables, crab, rice, bread, chicken, fish, egg, and so on. In short, these are the solids flashed down the toilet. In addition, there are also solids coming from the bathroom snch as toilet paper and hnman wastes. In the old combined sewer systems, solids may inclnde the soils from ground eroded by runoff. Figure 2.3 shows a pictorial representation of the varions components of total solids. [Pg.156]

Figures 8.25, 8.26, 8.27 and 8.28 are surface appearance of sphalerite at original state, and ground by coarse media, middling media and fine media, respectively. The figures above show that sphalerite has similar changes to those of pyrite under the four different conditions except that the colorization of sphalerite surface is not as evident as that of pyrite under the fine grinding condition. One test of the method was conducted over a medium-sized iron-copper deposit near the southeastern coast of China. The ore body occurs in a skam near to the contact of granodiorite with interlayered marbles and homfels. The attitude of the ore body is controlled by the contact, which generally is steep. The significance of the fluvial redistribution process can also be seen in studies of erosion and sedimentation processes.
