Grebe, John

The heart of innovation is ideas. To quote a historic Dow R D leader, John Grebe Ideas are among God s most precious gifts without them we d still be living in the Dark Ages. They separate man from all other creatures. He went on to say Listen carefully and keep an open mind. Perhaps you can... [Pg.12]

In addition to the above quantities, John J. Grebe reported the use of instruments for the measurement of time, specific gravity, volume, humidity, gas composition and ion concentration. See John J. Grebe, Ray H. Boundy, and Robert W. Cermak, The control of chemical processes, Transactions of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, 29 (1933), 211-256. [Pg.219]

Industrial chemical cleaning developed as an offshoot of the technology devised to increase the flow from oil, gas, and brine from wells. Hydrochloric acid was used prior to 1930 to dissolve deposits from oil wells. The development of the first corrosion inhibitors by John Grebe in 1935 allowed acid to be used (in about 1939 see review of cleaning history by Nesbitt ) to remove deposits from industrial boilers. The... [Pg.1]
