The response time, r, is typically determined by measuring the grating build-up time or erasure rate. For large grating spacings, the response time is the inverse dielectric relaxation rate ... [Pg.399]

Response times of undoped and Co-doped crystals for an incident intensity of 1 W/cm2 and a grating spacing of 0.7 pm are shown in Table 1. No systematic trend is apparent from these data, at least partially due to experimental uncertainties such as sample heating and variable reflection and absorption losses. Response times of as-grown and reduced Fe-, Mn-, and Cr-doped BaTi03 (18) range from 200 to 1200 ms under the same experimental conditions. Thus, it is clear that response times can vary considerably for crystals with different dopants and oxidation states. Additional experiments are needed to achieve better control over this key property. [Pg.409]

As indicated by Eq. (2), the smaller the intersect angle 02—0i, the larger the grating spacing AG. The grating spacing value can vary from sub-micron to several tens of micrometers. In a photoconductive medium, upon steady irradiation... [Pg.264]

Figure 7 Gain coefficient of PR material of compound 1 as a function of grating spacing measured at an applied field of 66 V/ xm. The circles are the experimental measurements. The solid line is a theoretical fitting using Eqs. (4), (19), (20), (38), and (39), with Eq = 102.6 V/ xm. (Reprinted from Ref. 27. Copyright 2000 The American Physical Society.)... In a recent paper Overn10 has also given wave-lengths for these same emission lines. His values, however, do not agree with ours even when corrected for the difference between the rock salt grating space used by him and the calcite grating space used by us. The discrepancy between his values and ours seems to increase as we go farther from the white line used as a reference line by him. [Pg.5]

In order to explain the diffraction of radiation on the quantum theory, the writer proposed1 an hypothesis according to which the momenta of the radiation quanta are transferred to the diffracting material in multiples of Ifija where h is Planck s action constant and a is a grating space." The momenta of a quantum transferred in the directions of three axes may be written... [Pg.1]
