Grass pollen allergy patients

Such adjuvant therapy should be performed for several months after grass or tree pollen exposure and perennially for mite allergy patients nevertheless, clinical symptoms disappear after mattress and pillow encasing measures. It should be initiated before immunotherapy as well as be continued during immunotherapy, when therapy-related side effects or allergy-related symptoms appear or virus infections of the respiratory tract occur [16, 17],... 

Median levels of sIL-2R were significantly higher before SLIT (596.7U/ml 1 year s SLIT 371.4 U/ml 2 years SLIT 345.6U/ml). Also, in all single allergy groups, sIL-2R plasma levels were reduced. This reduction was significant only in patients sensitive to grass pollen (before 592.3 U/ml 1 year 366.9 U/ml 2 years 348.3 U/ml) and mites (before 564.7U/ml 1 year 395.0 U/ml 2 years 327.5 U/ml) (see fig. 2). 

To date, several plant food-derived profilins have been characterized, most of them being evidently involved in PFS. Hazelnut profilin Cor a 2 and the profilins from Rosaceae fruits strawberry Fra a 4, apple Mai d 4, cherry Pru av 4, almond Pru du 4, peach Pru p 4, and pear Pyr c 4, for example, are considered to cross-react with grass and/or birch pollen Bet v 2 profilin (van Ree et al. 1995). Reactions to celery Api g 4 and carrot Dau c 4 are observed in patients with concomitant birch- or mugwort pollen allergy (celery-mugwort-spice syndrome) (Egger et al. 2006). The...
