Students in schools limited to about 400 students have fewer behavior problems, better attendance and graduation rates, and sometimes higher grades and scores. At a time when more children have less support from their families, students in small schools can form close relationships with teachers.

The last discussion of the job market for computational chemists was a brief one that DBB wrote for Volume 12 of this book series. In the present chapter, the history of the job market is reviewed and brought up to date. We discuss factors that have affected the job market either positively or negatively and look at where recent growth has occurred. We ascertain which skills are currently in greatest demand. We then look at some data on R D spending, graduation rates, and the number of patents granted, which reveal the broader R D environment in which many computational chemists work. Lastly, we look at a subject dear to the heart of most everyone salaries. 

Step 2 In a second phase, it is necessary to consider the grades of the students who graduate within one academic or calendar year. It is not necessary to take into account whether a student needs more time, as this is accounted for in the success rates, performance and graduation rates that are presented in the RD 1892 and 861. The universities are in charge of evaluating these parameters. We aim to analyze the level of competence acquisition of students who have completed all courses, including the DFP or FMP. 

Since the 2001-2002 academic year, the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) Academic Council has collected data on bachelors, masters, and PhD graduating bioengineering students from US institutions [5], [26]. These four years of data are the most accurate reflection of bioengineering graduation rates and the careers selected. The participation in the survey is voluntary and carried out via email in the fall of each year. 

Graduated quantity discount models are frequently used by utility companies for energy usage. Also, the U.S. Postal Service uses graduated rates for its first class mail. The first oimce is always charged at a higher rate and successive ounces carry a lower cost per ounce.
