When overexpressed in COS-7 cells, myc-cytohesin-lwas found associated with cytoskeletal structures and in the nucleus (Vitale et al., 2000). The N-terminus of cytohesin-1 appeared to be responsible for its presence in Golgi structures (Lee et al., 2000). Overexpressed cytohesin-1 was associated with the plasma membrane in Jurkat cells (Kolanus et al., 1996). This seemed to be influenced by stimuli like EGF and NGF, as well as integrin interactions with extracellular molecules such as ICAM (Kolanus et al., 1996 Venkateswarlu et al, 1999).

Aril is an Arfl-like small GTPase and is implicated in the regulation of Golgi structure and function (Lu et al., 2001). Morphological, biochemical, and yeast two-hybrid analyses have shown that GTP-bound Aril interacts with the GRIP domain of golgin-97 and that the interaction is responsible...
