Glycerol-Phosphates titration

Lead nitrate can be used for the titration of tartrates > or glycerol phosphates in addition to sulphates already mentioned. A standard solution of lead nitrate is also used for the final titration in an indirect determination of morphine. > The method consists of treatment of the sample containing morphine with an excess of a standard solution of potassium dichromate in acid solution. Morphine is oxidized and the chromate reduced to the chromic state. The excess of dichromate is determined by titration with a standard solution of a lead salt at pH 4-2. The method was used for the analysis of Tinctura Opii. [Pg.158]

Fig. 58a and b. Titration of P-448 with pyrene 159). The indicated amounts of pyrene were added to 1.92 pM P-448 in 0.3 M potassium phosphate buffer, pH 7.25, containing 20% glycerol. CD spectra and fluorescence emission spectra with excitation at 335 nm were measured. [Pg.78]

Titrimetric determination The mannitol or glycerol acid-base titration procedure is applied to the dissolved sodium carbonate melt for the determination of milligram amounts of B2O3. A blank prepared from a glass that does not contain boric oxide should be subjected to the same procedure. There are certain interferences the effect of fluoride is eliminated by adding calcium carbonate to the fusion mixture lead and zinc can be filtered off after dissolution of the melt phosphate is precipitated by addition of iron(ni) chloride. The influence of some interference from such elements as aluminum or titanium can be eliminated by adding ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). [Pg.2027]
