Glyceride metabolism, enzymes

The role of diet in the control of glyceride metabolism is almost certainly mediated by changes in the concentrations of circulating hormones which induce or repress the biosynthesis of enzymes such as PAP. This is a poorly understood area of lipid biochemistry because of the difficulties of isolating and purifying enzymes that are predominantly membrane-bound in order to study their induction or allosteric control (section 3.2.7).
