GFAP expression

These investigators found no effect of MDMA on GFAP expression, at doses that significantly depleted 5-HT levels in brain tissue.

Cross reactivity may occur with some antibodies. Polyclonal CEA cross reacts with nonspecific cross-reactive antigens in granulocytes whereas the monoclonal version of this antibody does not. Some antibodies may cross react with common epitopes on different intermediate filaments such as cytokeratin antibodies with GFAP-expressing glial cells.

Histopathologic features of malignancy do not accurately predict poor survival. This problem may eventually be solved by IHC. The combination of increased vimentin expression and decreased GFAP expression may predict poor survival in infratentorial anaplastic ependymomas. Anaplastic ependymomas are more likely to overexpress p53 or EGER protein than low-grade ependymomas. ... 

GFAP expressed in Escherichia coli, suggesting tiiat Pli 45 and GFAP are indeed the same proteins.
