Geometric screening

Loop conformations can be obtained by searching the protein databank for stretches of polypeptide chain that contain the appropriate number of amino acids and also have the correct spatial relationship between the two ends [Jones and Thirup 1986]. A test for amino acid homology may also be included in the criteria for loop selection. This procedure can be made very efficient by precalculating the necessary geometric information from loops in the protein databank and then using screemng methods to identify the loops that can fit. This geometric screen uses information about interatomic distances between key atoms at the base of the loop. Loops that clash with the rest of the protein are rejected. 

Thus, the fractal dimension D increases near the compensation point this is due either to the geometric screening of the excluded volume effect or to the enhancement of the attractive interaction. It indicates how effectively the optical cross-section (the optical screen) withdraws (and scatters) the energy of light beam (and scatters it) in comparison with a geometrical screen... 

Several research groups have built models using theoretical desaiptors calculated only from the molecular structure. This approach has been proven to be particularly successful for the prediction of solubility without the need for descriptors of experimental data. Thus, it is also suitable for virtual data screening and library design. The descriptors include 2D (two-dimensional, or topological) descriptors, and 3D (three-dimensional, or geometric) descriptors, as well as electronic descriptors. 

Leaves of Sumac were collected from Siirt in Turkey. They were dried at room temperature and darkness. Leaves were groimd with hand and screened through a set of sieves to get different geometrical size such as 300, 425, 600, 710, 850 pm. Samples were stored in an air-tight plastic container and in dark conditions imtil extraction time. 

C5 cyclization requires stricter geometric conditions than aromatization. This is in favor of the dual-site mechanism of C5 cyclic reactions (25). All metals catalyzing it have an fee lattice, and their atomic diameter lies between 0.269 and 0.277 nm. These two criteria must be fulfilled simultaneously. With such a distance between the two sites, the screening of the C—C bond adjacent to the preferably adsorbed tertiary C atom becomes evident. Figure...
