BCR-ABL gene

The Philadelphia chromosome results in the formation of an abnormal fusion gene, BCR-ABL, that encodes an overly active tyrosine kinase. [Pg.1415]

The resultant gene, BCR-ABL, encodes a constitutively active kinase that stimulates cell division and leads to the transformed phenotype of the cells. [Pg.212]
