GENERAL FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

General findings and recommendations are provided at the end of this Executive Summary. Specific findings and recommendations are presented throughout the report and are compiled in Chapter 5. 

The committee reviewed all of the general findings and recommendations from the ACW I Committee reports for continued applicability and disposition (NRC, 2000). The ACW II Committee s assessment of the status of these prior findings and recommendations is summarized below. 

Much more general findings and recommendations can be made using mathematical models of hydrodynamical processes in the separator. Creating a mafliematical model of the motion of a particle of dust in the swirling flow will evaluate the impact of various factors on the collection efficiency of dust in the separators, as well as to create a methodology to assess the effectiveness of the dust eollector.
