General consideration of interfacial area changes with time

General Consideration of Interfacial Area Changes with Time [Pg.115]

This adsorption model can be solved analytically using Laplace Transforms (Hansen 1961, Miller 1983) but the result is a non-linear Volterra integral equation similar to the Ward Tordai equation (4.1)  [Pg.115]

This integral equation cannot be used directly for the interpretation of experimental data, again a numerical procedure has to be applied. Another possibility consists in the application of a numerical method directly to the initial and boundary value problem. In Appendix 4C an algorithm is also given for the case of the boundary condition (4.37). [Pg.116]

A more general model for a difhision-controlled adsorption with a time dependent interfacial area was derived by Joos van Uffelen (1993a). In their model the flow resulting from an area [Pg.116]

The different signs stand for the compression (+) and dilation (-) case. [Pg.116]
