Gardener color scale

Several methods are used to determine the color of plasticizers. The ASTM method of plasticizers testing includes an abbreviated procedure veiy similar to the plahnum-cobalt scale method described in detail in a separate standard. Color of transparent hquids is also measmed by Gardener color scale. Saybolt chromometer originaUy designed for petrolemn products is also used, especially in the case of mineral oils. ... 

To quote D Espagnet "Three kinds of most beautiful flowers are to be sought and may be found in this Garden of the Wise. Damask-colored Violets, the milk-white Lily, and the purple and immortal flower of love, the Amaranth." Red and purple are the extremes of the Stone, just as they are the extremes of the color scale, showing that Nature always follows a definite law. Between these two extremes at different times one beholds the greatest variety of colors, many of which are not to be found elsewhere on earth. 

Another example from the deepwater Gulf of Mexico (Garden Banks) is shown in Figs. 10-14. The color plot of Fig. 10 shows the interval velocity field together with the stacked traces.
