Ganoderma species

Horner WE, Helbling A, Lehrer SB Basidiomycete allergens Comparison of three Ganoderma species. Allergy 1993 48 110-116. [Pg.46]

Only three well-documented studies have addressed cross-reactivity among or involving basidiomycetes [46,58,61]. These studies all used allergen extracts to inhibit IgE-specific immunochemical assays. RAST inhibition was first used to detect the cross-reactivity of various basidiospore allergen extracts [61]. The second study included spores from six different mushrooms, and the results were concordant with the taxonomic classification of basidiomycetes. Four species from related orders (C. quadrifidus, C. cyathiformis, P. ostreatus, P cubensis) were significantly cross-reactive species from two unrelated orders Ganoderma meredithae, Pleurotus tinctorinus) showed only minimal cross-reactivity with one another or the other four species [58]. [Pg.39]

Four yeast strains were isolated from different species of higher Basidiomycota Polyporus, Marasmiellus, Ganoderma). InPolyporus, the yeast... [Pg.218]

Fructificatio Ganodermae, named Lingzhi in Chinese, consists of the dried fruit body of Ganoderma lucidum (Leyss. ex Fr.) Karst, and other related species Poly-poraceae). [Pg.338]

Characteristic examples of such natural molecules are the steroid-like withanolides and the terpenoid dihydropyrones isolated from Kadsura, Ganoderma, and other various species. [Pg.51]

Although now commercially cultivated in China, much of the ganoderma is still gathered wild. The type imported into the United States is mainly red lingzhi (G. lucidum), this species is now mostly cultivated in... [Pg.301]

Oral doses of up to an equivalent of 1.88 g/kg of crude material could be tolerated by mice for 20 days with no toxic effects. The sensitivity to ganoderma toxicity varies with the animal species, with rabbits being the least sensitive and mice, the most sensitive (jiANGSu wang zhou and wang). [Pg.303]
