Gallium(III) Lewis acids can interact with various organic and inorganic molecules at the n electrons, n electrons, o electrons, and probably the d electrons as well, and activate the molecules towards nucleophilic attack, electrophilic attack, homolysis, deprotonation, hydride abstraction, transmetalation, carbometalation, oxidation, reduction, and other transformation reactions. The diverse reactivities of gallium(III) complexed molecules will be useful in organic synthesis. 

In recent years the coordination of N-, P-, or O-donor Lewis bases to aluminum and gallium trihydrides has been studied extensively (27). Interest in these complexes stems in part from their applications in a wide variety of areas, for example chemical vapor deposition technology (28) and organic synthesis (29). Additionally, LSFMand LSCM powders were synthesized with same synthesis route and organic carrier materials. In synthesis of LSFM and LSCM powders, the stoichiometry used in LSGM synthesis was kept to investigate the effects of different cations (Fe3+ or Cr3+ in place of Ga3+). Iron and chromium were chosen to replace gallium such that the new materials can be evaluated as candidates for SOFC interconnect and cathode materials.
