Fully consolidated fibres

Because of the fact that fibre shotcrete is often not fully consolidated, and because of rebound effects, the water/cement ratio law that governs the strength of cast concrete does not work very well, and so there is generally a poor correlation between w/c and compressive strength, as shown in Figure 14.14 [65],... 

Prepregs are fibre reinforcements with resins already infiltrated but not fully cured. Manufacture of composites from prepregs requires temperatures in the range of 70°C to 150°C depending on the resin system and the means of applying a consolidating pressure. Fibre volume fractions well in excess of 50% are normaUy achievable.
