French Permissible Explosives. Considerable work on development of permissible expls was done in France before WWII, but it was interrupted during WWII by Ger occupation. Accdg to M dard (Ref 31a, p 219), about 25% of expls used in France (at the time of publication of his paper) were permissible (explosifs antigrisouteux). The French also have permissible explosives containing both ammonium nitrate and nitroglycerin (gelatinized), with and without saltpeter. These are called Grisou-dynamites or Grisoutines. [Pg.351]
